Laura Curtze
Associate Director

Laura has extensive experience in advising and working with companies, public organisations and multi-stakeholder initiatives on human rights issues. As an Associate Director at Ergon, she supports clients on:

  • Human rights due diligence and strategy
  • Value chain risk assessments
  • Gap assessments and benchmarking
  • Grievance mechanisms and remedy
  • Training and capacity-building

Laura previously led UN Global Compact Network Germany’s social sustainability programme. As Director for Human Rights and Labour, she represented the Network vis-à-vis international and national stakeholders from business, civil society and public sector and was a member of the German federal government’s stakeholder working group on business and human rights. She also oversaw the development and delivery of various programmes, publications, peer learning and innovative capacity-building activities aimed at supporting companies in implementing human rights due diligence in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Prior to that Laura was a Senior Consultant at Ergon and provided strategic consulting and advisory services on human rights, labour rights and social standards, with a focus on global supply chains and worked on assignments for multinational brands, international development actors (including development finance institutions), multi-stakeholder initiatives and international organisations.

Laura holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Geneva Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies and a B.A. in political science from the University of Munich. She regularly facilitates and speaks at business and human rights conferences, workshops and events.
