Eden Winkels
Researcher

Eden is a Researcher, who joined Ergon in 2024. She has a background in consulting on business and human rights, with a particular focus on mining and has previously interned with the Danish Institute for Human Rights.
Eden’s areas of focus and expertise include:
- Human rights due diligence, incl. technical and strategic advisory on emerging legislation
- Research and stakeholder engagement regarding community rights, in particular indigenous peoples and human rights defenders
- Responsible raw materials sourcing, with a focus on risks and impacts of critical minerals supply chains
- Case studies and guidance for businesses on human rights
She speaks fluent English, Dutch and German.
Eden holds a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Groningen in the Netherlands, an MA in Conflict, Security and Development (2020) from King’s College London and an LLM in International Human Rights Law from City Law School London. She received the City Law School Prize for Excellence in Minorities and Indigenous Peoples Rights.
