Frances Burnley
Researcher
Frances joined Ergon as a Researcher in September 2024. She supports Ergon’s work with corporate clients, international organizations and development finance institutions.
She has experience in:
- Policy and research reports on labour rights topics and gender
- Strategic advisory for corporate clients on human rights due diligence
- Designing human rights assessment frameworks and practical tools
Prior to starting at Ergon, Frances worked as a legal administrator with the Union for Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers. She previously completed a research internship with a legal-aid NGO in Bangladesh, where she worked on projects relating to labour standards and conflict-related sexual violence.
Frances holds a B.A. in Law with German Law from the University of Oxford. Her degree included a year abroad at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where she took courses in German civil law and legal sociology. She can speak English and German.
