Managing social and environmental risks in supply chains for IDB-financed projects

This guide provides practical guidance to support IDB Borrowers, other implementing agencies, and third parties in applying the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Environmental and Social Policy Framework (ESPF) requirements related to project supply chain management. This includes, primarily, requirements set out under Standard 1 on Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts, Standard 2 on Labor and Working Conditions, and Standard 6 on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management of Living Natural Resources. Although some of the principles and guidance contained in this note may be of wider relevance, there is a specific focus on supply chains for public infrastructure projects.
