Iona Eckstein
Researcher

Iona is a Researcher and joined the team in December 2022. Iona’s work focuses on supporting corporate and development finance institution clients with human rights and labour focused projects. She has particular experience in:

  • Human rights due diligence and strategy
  • Human rights impact assessments (HRIAs) and human rights risk assessments in different supply chains
  • Labour focused projects in alignment with core development finance institution standards

Prior to joining Ergon, Iona worked for the UK Government in the International Climate Finance Team, working on tropical forestry programming and policy. She also worked at a policy research institute based in India, researching the platform economy, women’s work opportunities and the future of work in the Global South.

Iona holds an MSc degree in Global Development from the University of Copenhagen, and a BSc degree in Sociology from the University of Bristol.
