Economic participation for people with disabilities and older workers

This series of publications, developed by Ergon for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), examines the barriers and opportunities pertaining to economic inclusion for people with disabilities and older workers. Across national contexts, these diverse groups face a wide range of challenges in gaining access to employment and skills opportunities, finance and entrepreneurship, and key services that support and enhance economic participation. Many of these challenges have been exacerbated by the Covid-19 global pandemic.

Two research papers review the key trends, challenges, and opportunities facing people with disabilities and older workers, respectively, in emerging and transition economies through and beyond the Covid-19 emergency. Two separate, supplemental publications collect illustrative examples of best practices in both policy and private sector responses, and review relevant statistical indicators on inclusion across more than 40 countries. Finally, individual national contexts and experiences are overviewed in 10 country briefs.
