Handbook on Effective Grievance Mechanisms
Posted by Alastair Usher

Published by the Dutch Fund for Responsible Business (FVO) and researched by Ergon, this Handbook provides a practical introduction to setting up Grievance Mechanisms (GMs). Though many companies have long acknowledged the importance of grievance mechanisms, there remain significant deficits in developing and implementing these in a manner that effectively identifies and responds to harms suffered by workers and communities in global supply chains.
The Handbook describes a step-by-step approach to building a GM, including key concepts, the business case, common challenges, and practical recommendations. It also contains five detailed case studies from different sectors (fisheries, electronics, palm oil, garments and agriculture).
